Water Taxi Beach - With My Tween

Today I decided to take my tween and her friend to Water Taxi Beach for the first time. We drove down by the water in Long Island City and parked on a desolate street. The two girls looked at me like I was out of my mind, " there is a beach down here ?" they said sceptically. "That's what they say" I said and we walked toward the large yellow sign that indicated we were in the right spot.
