Caroling in Queens NY – Three Great Places to Sing Your Heart Out in the Borough

Holiday caroling time is upon us and there are three great events coming up where you can sing some tunes with your little ones in tow. Jackson Heights is hosting their 5th annual caroling event as well as one in Sunnyside and Astoria. Know any we missed? please let us know in the comments section below.

Caroling in Sunnyside 

Join community group artspaceQ as they collaborate with fellow Sunnyside artists to bring holiday music and hot chocolate to Sunnyside.
WHEN: Wednesday December 11th from 6pm-7pm
WHERE: 46 St | Bliss St Station - 46th Street and Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside Queens

Holiday Lantern Lighting and Walk in Astoria Heights Park

Friends of Astoria Heights Park will host a paper lantern lighting for kids accompanied by a lantern lighting dedicated to the Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, CT one  year anniversary. They plan to go for a short walk around the neighborhood with caroling provided by Art House Astoria Conservatory. Snacks and face painting will be available and a $3 donation fee is suggested to go towards lantern supplies

WHERE: Astoria Heights Park - 30 Rd. bet. 45 St. and 46 St. Astoria

The 5th Annual Jackson Heights Winter Holiday Sing-A-Long

Sing holiday songs from all faiths, languages & cultures as a group in Jackson Heights while walking through the  area. Songs are sung in every language including American Sign Language from students and faculty at the Lexington School.  The walk will begin up 75th Street, in the direction of traffic, and then up 32nd Avenue toward 76th Street, and then up and down local streets from there. Children, Santa hats, and small acoustic portable instruments are encouraged!

WHEN: Saturday December 21st from 7pm-10pm
WHERE: Corner of 31st Avenue and 75th Street, in front of Cassidy’s Ale House Jackson Heights

Caroling Tips:

  • Dress warm and according to the weather!
  • Wear comfortable / appropriate shoes or boots.
  • Bring a flashlight or well-protected candle for each person in your group.

There is an Annual Caroling Party in the Forest Hills Gardens hosted by St. Luke’s Church. They are meeting at the church (85 Greenway South) at 5:00 pm on Sunday, Dec. 22nd. They go around the Gardens for about an hour before a potluck dinner. http://www.stlukesforesthills.org
