Electronic Waste Recycling at Queens Botanical Garden
Don’t know what to do with your old electronics? Has that broken camera been sitting in your basement/garage/attic for longer than you care to admit? Then bring it, and every other electronic you don’t need or want anymore to the Queens Botanical Garden for their E-Waste Recycling Day.
Everyone is encouraged to bring unwanted or broken electronics to be disposed of free of charge. It is dangerous to through these out in the regular garbage because each electronic has various dangerous materials in it. Beginning in 2015, electronic waste will be banned from regular trash by law due to the harmful materials inside of them.
They’ll accept:
- tangles of broken holiday lights
- computers
- fax machines
- cell phones
- televisions
- cameras
- stereo equipment
- and more.
For a complete list of accepted materials, visit LES Ecology Center
As a special thanks to recyclers, all visitors who attend will have a chance to enter a free raffle to win a new 21” iMac and will also receive a “Green Karma” coupon worth anywhere from $5-$500 redeemable at the Tekserve store on 23rd street in Manhattan.
When: January 13th, 10am – 4pm, Rain or shine
Where: QBG Parking Garden, 42-80 Crommelin Street, Flushing
