Infant and Child CPR: Local Classes for Queens Parents
There are few things as scary as a child choking or not breathing and not being able to do anything about it. But there is a way to avoid being unprepared in that situation – by taking Infant and Child CPR classes.
While you may know how to perform CPR on an adult, the techniques are different when you’re dealing with the small body of a child, or a delicate infant. And if you’re at work all day, does your babysitter or nanny know what to do in a CPR emergency? The helplessness can be easily solved: by taking an Infant or Child CPR class. Luckily, there are a couple of options available for local parents.
Dreamnastics, located at 38 Great Neck Road in the New York Health and Racquet Club at D.R.E.A.M. Wellness offers these classes periodically. To find out when their next classes are scheduled, call them at (516) 829-8099.
Common Sense CPR will be conducting both Infant and Child CPR classes at Raising Astoria this weekend. They focus their classes around each individual student learning the proper technique with a 1 student to 1 mannikin ratio. The Infant CPR Class is on Saturday, from 2pm – 4pm. Cost: $75 per person. It’s also a good idea to have an emergency checklist handy in the house for you to refer to. New York Hospital Queens has a great list available here for reference.
