Best Places in Queens for Trick or Treating
Are you wondering where to take your kids trick or treating this year? Maybe your neighborhood isn’t really into Halloween, or you may just want a change of scenery. Here are the best places in Queens to help change up the trick or treating this year.
Middle Village
This neighborhood is a prime spot for some sweet treats. Some residents start decorating their houses for Halloween at the end of September. The blocks around Juniper Valley Park are your best bet.
Metropolitan Avenue in Forest Hills
The stores and restaurants that line Metropolitan Avenue are a great spot for candy hunters. A lot of the stores have been there for years, and you won’t really find big corporations. It’s more “mom & pop” than Target. Plus, you can hit up Eddie’s Sweet Shoppe if you haven’t satisfied your sweet tooth.
166th Street between 45th and 46th Avenues in Flushing
Residents of this Flushing block take trick or treating to the next level. Every year, the entire block hands out candy to over 700 kids, and each year the turn out gets bigger and bigger. Last year, they even had a band playing live music. This is definitely a sight to see.
Queens Center Mall
The mall is the place for one-stop shopping, but it can also be your one stop trick or treat locale. They are hosting mall wide trick or treating from 4:00pm – 6:00pm. There will also be a Zombie Show at 4:00pm and 5:00pm. Your kids can fill up their treat bags going from store to store. This is also a great option if it’s rainy.
Queens Zoo
Boo at the Zoo is running all weekend long, with opportunities to trick or treat around the zoo and farm. Plus, on Monday, they’re having their first ever Halloween Party for families. Astoria
Kids can trick or treat at the stores on streets like Steinway, Broadway, 30th ave, and Ditmars. The kids who want to trick or treat at houses can check out Crescent St between Hoyt and Ditmars.
Kew Gardens
The Co Ops in Kew Gardens open their doors to trick or treaters of all ages on Halloween. The best building to start at is the Roger Williams on Lefferts Blvd. and Austin St. Inside the building you will find Halloween posters on every door who wants to receive trick or treaters.
Middle Village is a great spot for sweet treats!! I probably went through 10 huge bags of candy last year from all the kids that rang my door bell! Over 150 Kids (I kept track!!!).
You can see parents from other neighborhoods dropping the kids off on our block to go trick or treating.
