Mommy and Me Swim Classes and Yoga
The Yoga Room in Long Island City
The Yoga Room offers yoga classes for you and your baby or toddler that focus on your wellness and your child’s. Stretch, bond, and breathe with your baby in this special yoga series designed for new mothers and infants (8 weeks to almost walking). Meet other moms and babies while you strengthen and support post-partum and sleep deprived bodies. Mommy and Toddler Yoga includes stories, puppets, music and song all bring yoga poses to life as little ones strengthen their growing bodies.
Baby Yoga classes are from 12:00–1:00pm on Wednesdays, Toddler Yoga classes are on Wednesdays from 10:45–11:30am

USA Pools at Flushing Meadow Aquatic Center has a Tiny Tots class for ages 6 months to 4 years for little ones and their parents. The Forest Hills Community House also has a Pampers Paddlers class for babies up to 48 months. This class is held on the weekends which is great for working moms.

Thinkertots – FREE TRIAL
Classes run all week at tons of different times. You can sign up for classes at any point and they will pro rate your tuition which we like. Baby and Toddler Language Classes
Run by an American woman named Merrianne Moore, Fun with Chinese Characters is aimed at teaching the Chinese language in an oral and performance based way to young children. With a background in Theatre Studies, Merrianne spent 7 years in Beijing where she studied at the Beijing Opera. “I was studying next to 11 year olds. It was embarrassing at times” she recalls, but this gave her a unique perspective on how children learn when exposed to the arts. Using a real live Chinese actor to play out her stories, Merrianne chooses a story to tell during her course.

Taking My Smart Hands™ classes is a great way to interact with other families learning to sign. It is also a fun way to learn new strategies on how to incorporate signing into your daily life. At My Smart Hands™ you will learn over 100 signs through games and songs in each 8-week class series to use at home with your baby and/or toddler.

Alley Pond Environmental Center
The Alley Pond class lineup changes every season with new offerings for kids. They are usually Alley Pond Environmental Center One structured around nature, animals, and crafting (with natural items of course) and toddler classes begin at 18 months with a Parent and Me “Wee Sprouts” and “Toddler Time” class offered during the week. As the kids get a bit older (3-4 years) there is a drop off program offered where the kids can have the same amount of fun but without your hands on involvement. What a perfect intro to school. The fall lineup includes making apple sauce, exploring bats and owls, pumpkin crafts, pinecones, and bird exploration. Toddler classes start at $16 per class for non members and go up to $20 per class.
